COVID-19: Termination Ban on Employment Contracts

Law No. 7244 "The Law on Reducing the Effects of the New Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic on Economic and Social Life and the Law on Amending Some Laws" was published in the Official Gazette dated April 17, 2020. In accordance with the aforementioned law, the termination of employment contracts by the Employer is prohibited for 3 months. On the other hand, in line with the same law, Employers shall be able to unilaterally send employees on unpaid leave for up to 3 months.
